Abstract
A recent study conducted by Rutgers University focused on understanding bystander behavior in preventing suicide, particularly among adolescents and young adults in the United States. The research examined the Theory of Planned Behavior to explain factors influencing individuals' intent to help and engage in proactive behaviors to prevent suicide. While attitudes and confidence were found to be significant factors in helping behaviors, social norms showed mixed associations with outcomes. The study highlights the importance of further research to better understand gatekeeper behaviors and design effective suicide prevention strategies. [Extracted from the article]
