Abstract
The article focuses on the development and evaluation of a new psychometric instrument called the Comprehensive Hierarchical Eustress Review (CHER), designed to assess eustress, which is the positive experience derived from challenging situations. The research addresses key questions regarding the characteristics and structure of eustress, its relationship with distress and wellbeing, and the clustering of individuals into different eustress profiles. The study, conducted with a sample of 260 adults in the UK, found that eustress can be understood through both unidimensional and multidimensional frameworks, revealing four distinct eustress profiles among participants. The findings have implications for future research on fostering positive experiences in challenging contexts. [Extracted from the article]
