Abstract

The article focuses on several medical studies related to hematologic and metabolic conditions. One study examines the impact of diabetes during pregnancy on the delayed onset of stage II lactogenesis (DOLII), finding that diabetes—regardless of glycemic control—can delay lactation onset through direct effects and associated complications such as cesarean delivery and infant-mother separation. Another study evaluates serum stabilin-1 (STAB1), a receptor expressed on tumor lymphatic vessels, as a prognostic marker in adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), reporting higher STAB1 levels in patients who did not respond to chemotherapy. Additionally, a brief mention is made of research on oral lactoferrin therapy for functional iron deficiency anemia in hemodialysis patients. These studies were conducted at Ain Shams University Hospitals in Cairo, Egypt, and highlight clinical factors influencing disease prognosis and treatment outcomes.
