Abstract

The article focuses on several pediatric health studies conducted in Egypt, including the frequency and clinical impact of arthropathy in children with inborn errors of immunity (IEIs), neurological complications following pediatric liver transplantation, and the effect of educational interventions on pediatricians’ knowledge of acute seizure management. It reports that arthropathy is a common complication in IEIs, occurring in both combined immunodeficiency and antibody deficiency groups. Neurological complications, primarily seizures, were observed in 20% of children post-liver transplantation, with cognitive impairments noted in several domains. Additionally, an educational program based on the Egyptian Acute Seizure Management Guidelines significantly improved pediatricians’ knowledge in emergency seizure care. The article also includes a study on reduced levels of natural anticoagulants in transfusion-dependent beta-thalassemia patients, suggesting a link to increased thromboembolic risk.
