Abstract

Most ABO subtype-relevant nucleotide missense variants have been identified in the last two exons (6 and 7) of the I ABO i gene, which encode 91% of the catalytic domain of ABO glycosyltransferases.[[1]] Here, we report a novel missense variant (c.145C>T, p.Arg49Trp) in exon 3 on the I ABO*B.01 i allele, first identified in a Chinese individual with AB SB 3 sb phenotype. BRIEF SUMMARY In conclusion, a novel I B i allele with c.145C>T in exon 3 on the I ABO*B.01 i allele was identified. [Extracted from the article]
