Abstract

A recent study conducted at Mackenzie Presbyterian University in Sao Paulo, Brazil, explored the effects of LEGO(R)-based therapy on the social behavior and mental health of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The study involved 18 children with ASD and found that both expert-mediated and non-autistic peer-mediated stimulation led to significant gains in social behavior. The results suggest that structured interventions combined with peer-mediated stimulation may be effective in promoting adaptive and prosocial behaviors in children with ASD.
