Abstract

The article explores the lack of generalized data sources on gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and postpartum diabetes screening in the U.S., how the available data have been or could be could be used for research and their limitations, as well as recommendations for each data set. It discusses data sources that include variables related to GDM, postpartum diabetes screening or both. It offers implementation suggestions for the data sources described for use in GDM monitoring and screening.
