Abstract
This article focuses on a case report suggesting a possible pathogenic role of Streptococcus urinalis in male urethritis. A 37-year-old man with persistent urethral symptoms following a single unprotected sexual encounter initially tested positive for Ureaplasma urealyticum and was treated with azithromycin, but symptoms continued. Subsequent urethral cultures repeatedly isolated S. urinalis, a bacterium previously associated with urinary tract infections and sepsis but not documented as a cause of urethritis. The isolate was fully susceptible to tested antibiotics, and the case highlights the potential clinical significance of S. urinalis in genitourinary infections, contributing to emerging evidence beyond commonly recognized sexually transmitted pathogens.
