Abstract

The article discusses the treatment landscape of metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) in Japan following the approval of androgen receptor signaling inhibitors (ARSIs) like abiraterone acetate, enzalutamide, and apalutamide. Research by Urabe et al. shows that ADT with ARSIs leads to better outcomes compared to other treatment options, but financial concerns and adverse events may impact their use. Japanese urologists have varying preferences for managing mHSPC, with some opting for ADT alone due to cost considerations. Collaboration with healthcare providers and social workers is recommended to address financial burdens on cancer patients. [Extracted from the article]
