Abstract
This article investigates how health and safety organizational resources influence hotel employees’ compliance with health protocols, stress reduction, resilience, and task performance during global health crises (GHCs), focusing on Egyptian hotels amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Using an extended Healthy and Resilient Organization (HERO) model, the study finds that comprehensive health and safety training and resources significantly enhance employees’ compliance with safety standards, which in turn reduces stress, improves resilience, and boosts task performance. The research integrates job demands-resources theory and transactional theory of stress and coping to explain these relationships and highlights the mediating role of compliance between organizational resources and healthy employee outcomes. Practical implications emphasize tailored training, visible management support, and mental health initiatives to foster a healthy organizational environment during health crises. Limitations include the study’s focus on Egyptian hotels and convenience sampling, suggesting the need for broader, longitudinal research across diverse hospitality contexts.
