Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted by researchers at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology that evaluates the effects of ADHD medications, specifically Ritalin immediate-release (IR) and ORADUR-Methylphenidate, using a novel load cell-embedded chair in a simulated classroom setting. The study involved 56 children with ADHD and assessed treatment outcomes through changes in average trajectory length (ATL) during a learning session, alongside parent and teacher-reported scores on the Swanson, Nolan, and Pelham (SNAP-IV) scale. Results indicated significant reductions in both ATL and SNAP-IV scores for both medication groups, suggesting the load cell technology may provide an objective measure of treatment efficacy in children with ADHD.
