Abstract
The article focuses on the comorbidity of eating disorders (ED) in patients with bipolar mood disorder (BD) types I and II during euthymic states. Conducted as a case-control study at Ain Shams University Hospitals, it found a statistically significant correlation between ED and BD, with patients exhibiting higher Eating Disorder Inventory (EDI) scores than controls. The study highlights the importance of screening individuals with bipolar disorder for underlying eating disorders to ensure appropriate intervention and management. This research represents one of the preliminary investigations into this comorbidity within the Egyptian population.
