Abstract

The article focuses on a study examining the concept of eustress, defined as the positive experience derived from challenging situations. Conducted with 251 adults in the UK, the research utilized the Situated Assessment Method to evaluate eustress across various real-life scenarios and identified nine influential processes, such as coping and fulfillment, from the Comprehensive Hierarchical construct of Eustress (CHE). The findings indicated significant individual differences and situational effects in eustress judgments, with the influential processes explaining a substantial portion of the variance in eustress experiences. The study aims to enhance understanding and foster eustress through personalized interventions, aligning with existing stress theories. [Extracted from the article]
