Abstract

The article focuses on the invariant finding of non-clonal bone marrow lymphocytosis, particularly with an increased B-cell component, in cases of indolent systemic mastocytosis (SM). Topics include the confirmation of this morphologic characteristic in all cases examined, the diagnostic criteria for indolent SM, and the unknown pathophysiologic relationship between malignant mast cells and bone marrow lymphocytosis.
