Abstract

The article focuses on the mental health challenges faced by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) youth, particularly the risk factors for self-harm and suicide linked to societal stigma, discrimination, and lack of support. It highlights Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) as a therapeutic approach that fosters self-love, self-awareness, and self-compassion, which can help LGBTQ youth manage negative thoughts and reduce suicidal ideation. The article emphasizes the importance of professional guidance, strong social networks, and ongoing support in effectively implementing MBCT to improve mental health outcomes for LGBTQ adolescents.
