Abstract

The article focuses on research examining work addiction among managers and its psychological predictors. Conducted at Szechenyi Istvan University in Gyor, Hungary, the study assessed 200 managers using the Bergen Work Addiction Scale and analyzed various psychological measures, revealing that 29% of the sample exhibited work addiction. Findings indicated that work-addicted managers experienced poorer physical and mental health, lower sleep quality, and significant differences across multiple psychological measures compared to non-addicted managers. The research highlights the need for targeted interventions to address work addiction and suggests that further cross-national studies are necessary for broader applicability.
