Abstract

This article examines patient perspectives on reasons for undergoing vasectomy, focusing on changes following the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. An anonymous survey of 57 vasectomy patients at Ohio State University found that after the Dobbs ruling, patients were significantly more likely to cite concerns about abortion access and the current political climate as reasons for choosing vasectomy. Other motivations, such as age, financial constraints, or health concerns, remained consistent before and after the ruling. The study highlights how shifts in reproductive policy may influence contraceptive decisions.
