Abstract
This article focuses on the prevalence and correlates of problematic pornography use (PPU) among medical students in Egypt. In a cross-sectional study of 627 undergraduate medical students, 23.3% were identified as having PPU based on the Problematic Pornography Consumption Scale-6 (PPCS-6). PPU was significantly associated with older age, male sex, higher levels of depression, anxiety, and stress (measured by the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21, DASS-21), as well as poorer academic performance, including reduced study hours and lower test scores. The study highlights the need for educational and support interventions addressing the mental health and academic impacts of PPU among medical students.
