Abstract

This article focuses on the successful use of Dupilumab to treat severe eczema and plane warts in a child with Dedicator of Cytokinesis 8 (DOCK8) deficiency, an autosomal recessive form of hyper-IgE syndrome. DOCK8 deficiency manifests early with severe eczema, recurrent infections, multiple food allergies, and combined immunodeficiency characterized by T-cell abnormalities. The reported six-year-old patient showed complete resolution of skin symptoms after starting Dupilumab, despite previous challenges with standard treatments and methotrexate. While hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) remains the curative therapy for DOCK8 deficiency, Dupilumab may serve as an effective interim treatment to reduce inflammation and infections.
