Abstract
This article focuses on a case of combined immunodeficiency disorder in a 2-year-old boy presenting with recurrent infections and multiple simultaneous gastrointestinal pathogens, including Shigella flexneri, Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium spp., and Ascaris lumbricoides. The patient exhibited severe malnutrition, chronic diarrhea, and respiratory distress, with immunological testing revealing abnormalities consistent with combined immunodeficiency. The report highlights the diagnostic challenges and the rarity of multiple concurrent gastrointestinal infections in combined immunodeficiency outside of HIV/AIDS contexts. It emphasizes the importance of timely diagnosis and immunological intervention to improve outcomes in such patients, despite the limited curative options available.
