Abstract
The author reflects on social work, substance use, and harm reduction and the perseverance required to fulfill practice and policy changes. She discusses the progress in drug-related overdose death rates, the programs and policies in reducing the harms associated with drug use, and actions needed to address behavioral health needs and substance use disorder (SUD) services across the U.S.
