Abstract
This article focuses on a semi-randomized controlled trial investigating the effects of a mindful parenting program on the attachment of deaf children and the resilience of their hearing mothers in Tehran, Iran. Thirty hearing mothers of deaf children aged 4 to 6 participated, with half receiving an eight-session mindful parenting intervention and half serving as a control group. Results showed significant improvements in both child attachment and maternal resilience in the intervention group compared to controls, with effects maintained at follow-up. The study highlights mindful parenting as a promising approach to enhance parent–child relationships and psychological well-being in families with deaf children, while noting limitations such as reliance on self-report measures and a relatively small sample size.
