Abstract

The article primarily reports on three medical studies conducted at Ain Shams University, Egypt. The first study highlights that the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is elevated in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients, particularly in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) cases, and correlates with myocardial necrosis markers, suggesting its role in assessing inflammation and myocardial damage. The second study investigates the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene C677T (rs1801133) polymorphism in rheumatoid arthritis patients treated with methotrexate, finding no significant association between this genetic variant and treatment response or disease complications. The third study detects clarithromycin resistance mutations in Helicobacter pylori from stool samples, revealing a 46% resistance rate with common mutations A2143G and A2142G, which may inform treatment strategies for infected patients.
