Abstract

The article discusses the implications of an executive order designating English as the official language of the United States, highlighting the exclusion of linguistic diversity and the institutionalization of English superiority. It emphasizes the challenges faced by immigrants and non-English speakers, who often experience discrimination and pressure to assimilate linguistically. The special issue aims to promote linguistic justice and liberation in marriage and family therapy (MFT) by showcasing contributions written in various forms of Spanish, which are translated into English, thereby fostering interlingual communication and acknowledging diverse cultural practices. The article concludes by encouraging exploration of alternative therapeutic practices rooted in different linguistic and cultural contexts. [Extracted from the article]
