Abstract
This article focuses on a study conducted by Hamadan University of Medical Sciences evaluating the effectiveness of clonidine and melatonin for treating sleep disturbances in children aged 6 to 12 with anxiety disorders. In a randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving 72 pediatric patients, both clonidine and melatonin significantly improved sleep quality compared to placebo after six weeks, with no significant difference between the two medications. The incidence of adverse effects was similar across all groups. The study concludes that clonidine and melatonin are effective options for managing insomnia in anxious children.
