Abstract
This article evaluates the diagnostic performance of the ART-ET screening tool, a non-invasive method using transvaginal ultrasound and patient history to predict difficult embryo transfers in assisted reproductive technology (ART). Conducted prospectively on 239 single euploid blastocyst transfers at two private ART centers, the study found that a scoring system incorporating cervical canal characteristics, cervical position, and history of cesarean delivery without vaginal birth predicted difficult transfers with high specificity (up to 100%) and accuracy (up to 94%). Difficult embryo transfers, defined by additional instrumentation or procedural challenges, were associated with lower ongoing pregnancy rates. The study suggests that early identification of potentially difficult transfers can guide clinical management, though further validation and investigation into interventions to improve outcomes are needed.
