Abstract

This article focuses on a rare case of primary mucinous carcinoma of the Fallopian tube with gastric differentiation in a 75-year-old woman diagnosed with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS), an autosomal dominant condition characterized by hamartomatous gastrointestinal polyps, mucocutaneous pigmentation, and increased cancer risk. The tumor originated in the Fallopian tube with secondary ovarian involvement and was associated with mucinous metaplasia, a finding also observed in the patient’s daughter with genetically confirmed PJS. The report highlights the rarity of gastrointestinal-type mucinous carcinomas in the female genital tract of PJS patients, underscores the diagnostic challenges they pose, and emphasizes the importance of thorough pathological examination and genetic counseling for early detection and management.
