Abstract
The article focuses on the validation of the Turkish version of the Brief Screener for Substance and Behavioral Addictions (SSBA), a tool designed to assess various addictions. Conducted by researchers at Koc University in Istanbul, the study involved 193 participants and demonstrated excellent internal consistency (α = 0.94) and support for its ten-factor structure through exploratory factor analysis. The SSBA effectively distinguished between clinical and general groups, particularly in substance and gambling domains, indicating its strong psychometric properties. The findings suggest that the Turkish SSBA is a reliable screening instrument for assessing substance and behavioral addictions in both clinical and research settings. [Extracted from the article]
