How to Steer Clear of Groupthink.

This article examines how to avoid groupthink in consensus-based problem-solving groups to allow for innovation. The authors reviewed transcripts from virtual task force meetings conducted by the American Health Information Community (AHIC) and present three steps to avoid groupthink based on the transcripts. The steps outlined include challenging the status quo, establishing transitional placeholder solutions, and framing lack of final agreement as progress.
