Abstract
ABO blood typing is an important aspect of transfusion medicine, ensuring safe blood transfusions and preventing adverse events. Discrepancies in ABO typing can occur due to technical errors, protein abnormalities, or other factors. Cold autoantibodies were found to be a common cause of ABO typing discrepancies. It is crucial to accurately identify a patient's ABO group before transfusion to prioritize patient safety. Comprehensive investigations, including DNA sequencing, can help resolve ABO typing discrepancies and improve transfusion compatibility. Awareness of the causes of ABO typing discrepancies is important for patient safety and minimizing transfusion risks. [Extracted from the article]
