Abstract
This article focuses on evaluating the psychometric properties of the COVID-19 Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (COVID-19-PTSD) questionnaire among the Iranian population. Conducted as a cross-sectional study with 403 adult participants from Shiraz city, the research assessed reliability, convergent validity, and construct validity of the Persian-translated questionnaire using statistical analyses including Cronbach's alpha, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and correlations with the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DAS-21) and the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R). Results demonstrated good overall reliability (Cronbach's α = 0.912) and acceptable convergent validity, with a modified seven-factor model of the questionnaire showing a good fit for the Iranian sample. The study concludes that the COVID-19-PTSD questionnaire is a valid and reliable tool for screening PTSD symptoms related to COVID-19 in Iran, though caution is advised regarding the low reliability of the avoidance subscale.
