Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted in Chongqing, People's Republic of China, examining the relationship between General Belief in a Just World (GBJW) and rape victim blame. Researchers from Southwest University investigated whether gender-specific system justification (GSSJ) and hostile sexism (HS) mediate this relationship, finding that GBJW positively predicted rape victim blame, with GSSJ serving as a mediator. The study revealed that the effects of GBJW on victim blame varied by gender, indicating that psychological mechanisms differ between male and female observers. The findings underscore the importance of considering gender when analyzing perceptions of rape victim blame. [Extracted from the article]
