Abstract

The article focuses on research conducted in Xi'an, People's Republic of China, regarding the cognitive psychology of multiple object tracking (MOT). It compares classical two-dimensional MOT (2D-MOT) with stereo-three-dimensional MOT (S-3D-MOT) and introduces a new task, flat-screen three-dimensional MOT (F-3D-MOT), to analyze the effects of binocular and monocular 3D cues on tracking performance. The study found that soccer players outperformed non-athletes in S-3D-MOT, highlighting their enhanced sensitivity to binocular cues, while no significant differences were observed between the two groups in F-3D-MOT or 2D displays.
