Abstract
This article focuses on a planned prospective cohort study examining the effect of loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) on female sexual function. LEEP is a minimally invasive technique used to remove precancerous cervical tissue following abnormal cervical cancer screening results. The study will compare sexual function and distress, measured by the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and Female Sexual Distress Scale-Revised (FSDS-R), in women undergoing colposcopy alone versus those undergoing colposcopy followed by LEEP. Results are pending, with analyses controlling for factors such as age, parity, menopausal status, and mental health diagnoses. The researchers anticipate no significant difference in sexual function outcomes between the two groups.
