Abstract
This study examines the availability and characteristics of behavioral addiction treatment centers in hospitals across Türkiye, based on a review of 1,393 hospital websites conducted between June and September 2023. Findings indicate that only 51 hospitals (3.7%) offer behavioral addiction treatment, predominantly located in 23 provinces, with nearly half situated in İstanbul; 22 are public and 29 private institutions. The most commonly treated behavioral addictions include internet and gambling addiction, with treatment modalities primarily involving psychotherapy, psychopharmacotherapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. The study highlights regional disparities in service availability, a focus on both adult and pediatric populations, and the absence of online treatment options, concluding that behavioral addiction treatment remains limited and unevenly distributed in Türkiye.
