Abstract

A recent study conducted by investigators from the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in Madrid, Spain, explored the relationship between non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in adolescents, impulsivity, and addiction to social networks and the internet. The study involved 516 participants aged 11-21 years old, with significant findings indicating connections between NSSI and impulsivity, digital addiction, age, and sex, with motor impulsivity, freaky behaviors, and female sex being significant predictor variables. The research suggests that gender plays a crucial role in self-injurious behavior and provides valuable insights for developing interventions targeted at adolescents. [Extracted from the article]
