Anger Management and Social Integration as Determinants of Resilience among University Students Victims of Intimate Partner Violence in Tanzania.

Abstract

This article focuses on the prevalence of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) among university students in Tanzania and examines how resilience among IPV victims is associated with anger management and social integration. A cross-sectional study of 276 students found that over 91% reported experiencing IPV in the past year, with resilience and social integration scores relatively high, while anger management scores were lower. Hierarchical regression analysis showed that greater social integration and better anger management were significantly linked to higher resilience, but IPV victimization did not moderate these associations. The findings highlight the need for universities in Tanzania to review policies addressing IPV, promote psychosocial support services, and implement interventions that enhance anger management and social integration to support student victims.
