Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted by researchers at the University of Thi-Qar that investigates the genetic factors associated with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and autism. The research involved DNA sequencing to analyze polymorphisms in the DRD4 and DRD5 genes among patients with these conditions compared to a control group. Findings indicated that specific genotypes of the DRD5 gene were significantly associated with increased risk for ADHD and autism, while no significant differences were found for the DRD4 gene. The study highlights the potential genetic contributions to these developmental disorders in Iraqi children. [Extracted from the article]
