Abstract

This article reports on a newly registered randomized controlled clinical trial (NCT07410416) conducted by Ardahan University to evaluate the effects of joint range of motion (ROM) and Benson relaxation exercises on dialysis adequacy, treatment adherence, and quality of life in patients undergoing hemodialysis. The study will enroll 72 adult hemodialysis patients, dividing them into three groups: one performing ROM exercises, another performing Benson relaxation exercises, and a control group receiving no intervention. Outcomes will be measured using validated scales including the Seven-Point Subjective Global Assessment (SGD-7P) for nutritional status and dialysis adequacy, the End-Stage Renal Failure Compliance Scale for treatment adherence, and the Kidney Disease Quality of Life Scale (KDQOL-36). The intervention will be applied three times weekly over eight weeks, with assessments at baseline, week 4, week 8, and a final follow-up at week 10.
