Abstract
The article "Revisiting Paraneoplastic Acral Vascular Syndrome" published in the International Journal of Dermatology discusses the rare condition of Paraneoplastic Acral Vascular Syndrome (PAVS), which manifests as acrocyanosis and digital necrosis due to an underlying malignancy. The etiology of PAVS is not fully understood but may involve tumor microembolization, tissue factor release, and sympathetic nervous system stimulation. Patients with PAVS should be screened for other causes, and treatment involves managing the underlying malignancy. The article highlights the complex interplay between the immune system and coagulation in PAVS, suggesting further research is needed to fully understand this condition. [Extracted from the article]
