Abstract

The article focuses on evaluating noninvasive methods for assessing liver fibrosis in patients with Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), specifically measuring serum Galectin 3 levels and using transient elastography. Conducted as a prospective cross-sectional study on 150 NAFLD patients with risk factors such as diabetes and hyperlipidemia, the research found significant differences in cholesterol, triglycerides, liver enzymes, and other biomarkers between groups, supporting the utility of transient elastography in NAFLD diagnosis and assessment. Additionally, the article includes studies on serum immunoglobulins and interleukin 10 in hypertensive patients, revealing immune dysfunction and inflammation’s role in hypertension, and on the hormone obestatin in hemodialysis patients, investigating its potential link to malnutrition. These findings highlight the importance of noninvasive biomarkers and immune factors in managing chronic diseases.
