Abstract
This article focuses on a qualitative study conducted by the University of Utah exploring the health benefits and challenges of a mobile-based multidomain lifestyle (MDL) program, called the Silvia Program, for older adults at risk of dementia living in assisted living facilities (ALFs). The study involved ten participants aged 66 to 93 and identified perceived benefits including cognitive improvement, psychological wellbeing, and health behavior management, alongside challenges such as technology anxiety and content-related issues. The findings highlight the feasibility and value of technology-based MDL interventions in ALFs and suggest the need for program refinement to enhance usability and engagement. This research addresses a gap in understanding how mobile technology can support cognitive and mental health in older adults with dementia risk. [Extracted from the article]
