Obsessive-compulsive disorder and its association with work addiction and job stress.

Abstract

This study examines the associations between employees' Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) tendencies, work addiction, and job stress within organizational settings. Using survey data from 771 white-collar employees in Türkiye, the research found that higher OCD symptom levels, particularly the rumination subdimension, are positively correlated with increased work addiction and job stress. The findings highlight the importance of recognizing OCD tendencies in the workplace, as these may contribute to mental health challenges and affect employee well-being and productivity. The study calls for greater attention to OCD in organizational psychology and suggests further research on the experiences and support needs of employees with high OCD tendencies.
