Abstract

The article focuses on the evaluation of immunohistochemical markers in differentiating and diagnosing various carcinomas and neoplasms. It reports that Alpha smooth muscle actin (Alpha SMA) is a valuable marker for labeling cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), showing significant expression in invasive LSCC but not in high-grade dysplasia or pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia. The study on ovarian mucinous neoplasms found that SATB2 and PAX8 immunostaining profiles can effectively distinguish primary ovarian mucinous neoplasms (POMNs) from secondary gastrointestinal (GI) metastatic tumors. Additionally, TRPS1 (Trichorhinophalangeal syndrome-1) was identified as a sensitive immunohistochemical marker for breast carcinoma across molecular subtypes, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), aiding in confirming breast origin in metastatic cases. These findings highlight the diagnostic utility of these markers in pathology practice.
