Abstract
Ferrum metallicum was first proved by Hahnemann and shows a rich array of symptoms, including anemia with false plethora, and has been found to be useful in many conditions of the respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, menstrual disorders, as well as many other conditions. Ferrum metallicum and Ferrum phosphoricum are the most widely utilized iron compounds and have received the most extensive provings and clinical confirmations. Many other iron salts have also been used in homeopathy, occasionally based on proving symptoms and, more often, based purely on clinical usage and experience, which is much less precise.
