Abstract
This article focuses on a clinical case involving an 83-year-old woman with bilateral enucleation-induced blindness who was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) and exhibited symptoms consistent with Charles Bonnet Syndrome (CBS). The patient experienced complex visual hallucinations, memory impairments, executive dysfunction, balance and gait disturbances, fluctuating awareness, autonomic dysfunction, and sleep changes. Neuropsychological evaluation was limited due to total vision loss but revealed deficits in memory, attention, and language consistent with moderate-stage LBD. The case highlights the coexistence of CBS, characterized by visual hallucinations in visually impaired individuals, alongside LBD in a patient with profound visual impairment.
