Abstract
This article focuses on a study conducted in Shaanxi, People's Republic of China, examining the use of synesthesia-based learning—a multisensory approach combining sight, sound, and touch—to enhance educational outcomes for special education students with learning disabilities and sensory impairments. The research involved 117 students aged 12-15 in grades 1-3 of a special education program and compared traditional instruction with synesthesia-based methods across cognitive and creative skill dimensions. Results showed that synesthesia-based learning improved emotional engagement, creativity, task completion, and participation, with notable gains especially among female students and those in Grade 3. The study concludes that this approach offers a promising strategy for inclusive and engaging instruction in special education settings. [Extracted from the article]
