Abstract

A recent report from the Department of Psychiatry highlights the phenomenon of "autistic savant," where individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) possess exceptional abilities that are incongruous with their overall mental disability. The report emphasizes that as many as one in 10 autistic individuals exhibit these remarkable skills to varying degrees.
