Abstract
This article analyzes the clinical efficacy of long-term statin therapy following thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) in patients with acute type B aortic dissection (ATBAD). A retrospective study of 645 patients divided into Statin and Non-statin Groups found that statin therapy significantly reduced all-cause mortality, aorta-related death, and aorta-related adverse events (ARAE), especially in patients with high admission low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels. Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analyses confirmed these associations, while subgroup analysis indicated that benefits were more pronounced in the high LDL-C group. The findings suggest that long-term statin therapy after TEVAR may improve long-term outcomes in ATBAD patients, supporting its consideration in postoperative management.
