Abstract
The article focuses on a systematic review and meta-analysis of the effectiveness of Transcendental Meditation (TM) as a treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The research, conducted by Maharishi International University, analyzed 61 studies and found a moderate overall effect size of g = -0.67 for symptom reduction, with TM showing a larger effect size of g = -1.13 compared to other meditation techniques. The study included 15 controlled trials with a total of 1,248 subjects and concluded that TM produced significant reductions in PTSD symptoms across diverse populations, recommending further multisite studies to compare TM with established PTSD treatments.
